A good understanding of the real issues, of the real needs of the Client is critical and will prevent much wastage of time and costs. The Engine starts off any collaboration with a deliberate effort directed at understanding the Client, the key stakeholders, the market forces impacting the business. Few interviews and data dives later, a clearer frame starts taking shape. This enables us to revert with a proposed for a clean process that cuts to the chase.

Agree the plan / clear outputs

The Engine is meant to move things, not run idle. We are a strategy boutique consisting only of 3 people - no juniors, no overheads. We want to help our clients reach the solution they need without wasting one minute more than necessary. So, we tailor the process, following Einstein's Principle of Simplicity: ”Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler”.

“Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth” said Mike Tyson, and this applies equally in our project plan. Usually reality is different, sometimes steps become redundant, other times a gap appears which needs to be bridged before moving on.
